Guardian Firewall Transparency Report

Last updated: June 2026 Coverage: March 2024 – May 2026

About This Report

Guardian is a VPN application. We are not an internet service provider and do not retain network logs, netflow data, DNS records, or other identifying information about our users, with the exception of e-mail addresses provided by those who sign up for Guardian Pro, and blocked trackers/connections for the in-app Alerts capability. Read more in our Privacy Policy.

As a result, in most cases, we have no data responsive to any legal requests.

This page documents every legal and government request directed to Guardian since we began tracking them. We publish this information so our users can make informed decisions about the privacy protections Guardian provides.

How We Respond

When we receive a request from a government or law enforcement authority, our standard approach includes the following:

  1. We review legality and scope (jurisdiction, authority, service requirements, and whether the request is overbroad). In most cases, we have no data responsive to legal requests and therefore reject any such request.
  2. We require valid legal process for any disclosure. We do not disclose data in response to informal requests.
  3. We challenge unlawful or overbroad requests when appropriate and where there is a legal basis to do so.
  4. We minimize any disclosure: if disclosure is legally required and data exists, we disclose only the specific data compelled by law.
  5. We document outcomes for accountability.

As of the date of this report, no user data has ever been produced in response to any request.
